REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST | CLINIC OWNER

Lori Sampson, PT

Lori attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia before graduating from the Dalhousie School of Physiotherapy in 2004. As a former Clinic Director for two of Canada’s leading physiotherapy corporations, she developed the personalized, one-on-one, patient-first treatment philosophy that now defines The Physio Studio.

With over 20 years of experience in private practice physiotherapy, Lori’s passion is treating athletes. She has worked extensively with and supported local sports clubs across the Durham Region including baseball, hockey, soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, and rugby. While she has a strong passion for treating competitive athletes, Lori is equally committed to helping active adults — weekend warriors, golfers, cross fitters and yogis — stay strong, mobile and injury-free. Lori also loves helping those new to an active lifestyle transition from a more sedentary life to one where their health and wellness needs are optimized.

Lori is also very proud to serve local First Responders, including Military members, Firefighters, Police Officers and Paramedics. She understands the unique physical demands of their work and the impact that these demands have on their bodies.  Lori has built a long standing trust with many members of Fire, Police and EMS services across the region having great respect for their jobs and service.  Lori’s treatment approach combines hands on, manual therapy with active, exercise-based rehabilitation. She takes great pride in utilizing all members of her multi-disciplinary team to ensure that her patients’ treatment plans are as specialized and customized as possible. Lori has developed great rapport with many respected orthopedic surgeons throughout the GTA ensuring that her patients regain optimal function following surgery and complex injuries.

Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, Lori brings warmth and energy to everything she does. As a busy mom of three boys, she’s often found on the sidelines at the football field, baseball diamond or soccer pitch — cheering just as passionately as she treats.
